Laura Antoniou
Author of The Marketplace series & The Killer Wore Leather
My world, and welcome to it.
After years of publishers, contracts, and chaos, I’ve taken full control of my work. The Marketplace novels and story collections are now reissued, refreshed, and finally reporting sales directly to me—exactly as they should. And in delightful news, The Killer Wore Leather has found a new home with Simon & Schuster, who will be handling print and ebook editions going forward.
This site is still very much a work in progress. As I rebuild my publishing presence, I expect to add plenty of free reading on an array of topics, direct sales of signed books, and updates on whatever I’m doing—traveling, teaching, learning. Kvetching.
So. Much. Kvetching.
Settle in and look around. There’s more coming, and you’ll see it as soon as I wrangle it into existence.
Laura Antoniou is best known as the author of The Marketplace series—six novels and three short-story collections that redefined erotic fiction about consensual power exchange. Her characters wrestle with obedience, love, and ambition (and occasionally with each other), bringing humor, realism, and heart to a genre too often trapped in cliché.
She’s also the author of The Killer Wore Leather, a satirical love letter to the kink world disguised as a murder mystery; co-author of Silk Threads with Midori and Cecilia Tan; and creator of Avadim Hayinu: The Leather Seder, a gleeful fusion of Jewish ritual and leather-folk storytelling. Her shorter works have appeared in dozens of anthologies since the 1990s, earning her the NLA-International Writing Award, the John Preston Short Fiction Award, and—most dear to her heart—the Jack McGeorge Award for excellence in education within the BDSM community.
When she’s not writing about fictional people behaving badly (and responsibly), Laura can be found teaching about consent, communication, and the craft of writing realistic kink. A veteran of kink conferences, book festivals, and classrooms around the world, she’s known for her sharp wit, generous laughter, and utter refusal to whisper the word “sex.”
She lives in Queens, New York, with her wife, Karen, and far too many books.
Find her online at Facebook for updates and irreverent commentary or support her work and behind-the-scenes projects at Patreon. You can find more information about Laura on her about page.
